As Artist in Residence Anette Lusher was awarded several Tip Grants for Jefferson County Youth Center in Kentucky to teach and create art with detained youths for a permanent installation, while working for the most part of 4 years at elementary schools, at community centers, in middle schools and colleges. She also worked with the physically and mentally challenged population of the Greater Kent Area, WA to create Public Art, which is permanently installed at Resource Center in Kent, WA
Career Highlights Recipient of the distinguished Jackson Purchase Award; “Woven Words and Words Woven” a unique collaboration/show of 70+ of her artworks with accompanying poetry by poet Malcholm Glass of Tennessee at the Fine Arts Center in Madisonville, KY; selected to the “50 most achieved contemporary Artists from KY and surrounding States”. Multiple 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorary Awards, as well as a "Most Creative Art Award" line her career. Recently, Anette Lusher had her paintings on display for a period of 4 months in a solo exhibit at Highline Community College Gallery in Des Moines, WA, and received her second year invitation to "Fusion", an annual Fundraiser Art Event at Dumas Bay Center Gallery - Federal Way, WA . "Heaven and Earth II" & “Overgrowth & Understory”, two acclaimed Sculptural Outdoor Group Exhibits at Carkeek Park, Seattle, WA and at Cougar Mt.,Seattle, WA "Insider/Outsider", Group Show at CoCA, Seattle, WA ( Art Work from previously exhibited outdoor shows: "Heaven and Earth II" and "Overgrowth & Understory". Furthermore, the artist participated in the 2010 "Art Marathon" , a 24 hour creative Art Event by 30 participating artists at CoCA, Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle, WA in October of 2010.
